Congratulations to Rob Simmonds and the team at Maven for this month’s Installation of the Month!
Part of a fully integrated home, Maven transformed the basement bar and games area into the ultimate adult playground. The client's brief called for a functional bar space, sports bar-esque TV screens, and a powerful sound system capable of competing with most nightclubs.

The main bar/games area features an impressive setup, including eight Artcoustic Evolve 8-4 wall-mounted loudspeakers and four in-ceiling speakers for seamless audio coverage. Four Artcoustic SUB3s ensure deep bass throughout the space.
Integrated with Control4 audio distribution, Wyrestorm NHD video over IP solution, and Kaleidescape media servers, the system is controlled via a large Control4 control system housed in a Middle Atlantic rack. Lutron Homeworks QS provides user-friendly lighting control, while custom buttons allow for easy selection of video sources and events.
In addition to the main area, Maven created a snug corner with a separate TV and Artcoustic 2.1 audio system for playing retro games consoles. Restored original arcade machines, a pool table, and other gaming options provide endless entertainment under the custom neon-frosted lighting.
Despite its discreet aesthetics, the audio system delivers a powerful and well-balanced sound experience. With preset lighting levels for different modes, including entertaining, gaming, and nightclub, the space is versatile and easy to use.
The client is thrilled with the transformation, enjoying the space for entertaining and gaming on a daily basis. Maven's attention to detail and commitment to user-friendly design have created a fun and functional environment that exceeds expectations.
