With advances in technology enabling the integration of audio and video systems throughout the home, now architects and designers are increasingly specifying these systems in new homes now more than ever. This elegantly designed home is a prime example of how good design and smart audio can exist cohesively. Located in a residential area outside of London, this residence is set on a modest sized inner city plot. Issues of space and planning consent are major factors when building an urban residence. However, an astute design like this one will address all of these points.
This home is a highly personal reflection of the homeowners and a tribute to the architects and interior designers and their teams. The house has an interesting aura: contemporary, comfortable and casually elegant with very sophisticated finishes and architecture. Designing an eclectic house based on the owners’ wishes was not an easy task. The homeowners were very specific about certain requirements and demanded an oasis that included a sense of space and light, urban and linear on the one hand and cosy, with a setting easily used for entertaining on the other.
The owners worked as a team with the architects and interior designers relaying their vision to them and giving them carte blanche to create their dream home as well as providing their feedback throughout the initial phases and development. They felt that the design teams understood what they were looking for and were extremely competent in providing them a top notch solution.
Horizontal lines are carried out throughout the structure inspired by corner-cut windows. The lines are especially prominent in the windows and doors that define the residence. They both bring cohesiveness to the architecture and add exceptional day lighting indoors.
Inside, the home is extremely sleek with white walls and tiles.
Contemporary furnishings are laid out throughout the residence allowing
the owners to live in their open space dwelling with simplicity. By
doing this one can admire the furnishing, architecture and garden. The
living area also functions as a home entertainment space. With elegant
charcoal grey and black leather furnishings and plush carpets, this
large space integrates the latest in audio technology with contemporary
design. Artcoustic was the only solution for the owners when it came to
deciding on a high end loudspeaker system. The large plasma screen sits
perfectly between a pair of Artcoustic DF 65-50 loudspeakers, kitted
out with black screens to offset the white walls to provide a superb
home cinema experience. A Diablo C1- X2 Multi Purpose Monitor and hi-fi
equipment are concealed in sleek white cabinetry along with a Diablo
Panel Subwoofer discreetly placed on the side. To complete the system a
pair of Diablo Monitors are located in the rear of the room and placed
on the walls for the surround sound. This powerful system provides an
ideal cinema experience but also allows the owners to enjoy their
favourite music while relaxing in their home. The sleek and
sophisticated styling of the Artcoustic speakers also ensures they look
great even when they are not in use.
The result is a perfectly melded and interesting flow of space, sound and design. The owners brought together a creative vision for a contemporary home embracing warmth along with a strong passion for design and acoustics.

This brand new facility will showcase the company’s state-of-the-art high-end audio solutions to their exclusive dealers, consultants, architects, interior designers and end users.
