Smarthomes and Artcoustic – Timeless Beauty, Seemless Integration
Home cinemas, like homes, come in many different styles. Choosing a high performance system designed to complement the interior decor, can bring a balanced and uniform look to a room. Depending on an individual’s requirements, home theatres often involve unusual combinations of equipment. Therefore, hiring an experienced company that can design a system to suit one’s needs and then professionally install it is well worth considering. This successful developer did just that when he wanted to install a multi-purpose home cinema and entertainment room within in his newly built basement.
The client commissioned Smarthomes to provide him with the optimal solution for his elegant home in Surrey. The client’s wish was to have a fantastic multi-purpose room which would be used on a daily basis by his family and guests. The homeowner was specific about certain requirements, including a sense of spaciousness and light. All audiovisual components needed to be seamlessly integrated with each other, emphasising the idea of minimalist, functional and clean designs — ideal for the residence’s modern interior.
Smarthomes was involved from an early stage in the construction and strove for performance and aesthetics. The goal was achieve a unique use of the space not only for the home cinema, but also for the room to be used for parties and as a video games room. The system had to be of the highest quality and easy to operate. It was also the goal to make a feature of the speakers, rather than have them hidden, thus the preferred choice of projection surface was a discrete in-ceiling electric one with acoustic properties. There is a bar to the rear of the room which houses all of the AV & control hardware and an outside sunken terrace with its own audio zone. The quality of the acoustics was a priority as well as the aesthetics of the installation when not used as a cinema.
The room is designed with incredible attention to detail in every aspect. Smarthomes selected an audio and video system of the highest standards. The cinema room features 3 Artcoustic DF65-50 loudspeakers elegantly hung on the walls. The system also features Artcoustic Diablo Monitor Speakers to provide the surround sound. The Euroscreen Sesame Ceiling Recessed Electric Projector Screen sits neatly in the ceiling and when movies are viewed automatically drops down in front of the Artcoustic speakers producing an incredible sound stage, awesome dynamics whilst maintaining the clean contemporary designs this property deserves.
Smarthomes definitely deserves the Installation of The Month for this install. The result is a masterpiece of form and function. From its sleek and luxurious interior to its cutting-edge audio visual, this multi-purpose home cinema room is the centrepiece elegant home.

Spitfire 4-2-1 Cinema System – Spitfire 4-2-1 speaker system redefines reference cinema performance
The new flagship Spitfire 4-2-1 speaker system is available now from Artcoustic Loudspeakers.
