The restaurant’s owner, Scott Wilson has placed quality first and this goes for the food and tasteful interiors as well as his choice of top quality acoustics provided exclusively by Artcoustic Loudspeakers.
When Scott set out to launch his bar/restaurant, he envisioned a space unlike anything the city ever had. Picturing a venue that featured high end audio, video, and lighting systems, Scott wanted a flexible space that could function as several individual zones and one large party and screening/media room area–all with the highest degree of audio quality. After pairing with Moda es Limited, expertise in integrating and installing state-of-the-art AV technology, Scott’s sophisticated vision became a reality in the new Jetlag Bar/Restaurant. Inside, the venue features an open and sophisticated look. This international cocktail bar and restaurant that covers 2 entire floors is quickly establishing a reputation as one of the city's most popular hospitality/media venues, complete with their exclusive Artcoustic Screening Room.
The ultimate goal was to create a flexible space that could be manipulated to create a multitude of scenarios,” says Scott Wilson. Customers can enjoy a sumptuous meal while being serenaded with soothing acoustics, business and media executives can seal business deals over cocktails in the lounge bar area and with the state-of-the-art screening room in the Basement Bar, patrons can enjoy a blockbuster movie while dining or media clientele can host exclusive screenings of their latest projects in an elegant private setting.
For high end audio, Moda es had only one system in mind – Artcoustic. “From day one it was always going to be Artcoustic”, says Nick Kemp of Moda es Limited. Scott had heard of Artcoustic before and sampled a demo at the Artcoustic UK Showroom/Headquarter. The result - he was totally blown away and said “we have to do this”. It was a clear cut decision from then on that Scott would have Artcoustic loudspeakers adorn the walls of the Jetlag Bar as well as provide the dynamic acoustics for their state of the art screening room. “A high performance system was essential to position the bar as a quality screening room that could match and, in many cases, surpass professional screening rooms in London. We wanted to attract media professionals who appreciated quality in their food and drink and were looking for the same in their media delivery”, says Scott. In addition to the superb sound, Scott was even more ecstatic that the speakers would blend beautifully with the eclectic and luxurious surroundings. Prints from the Artcoustic Michael Banks Art Portfolio adorn the fronts of the speakers to complement Jetlags Urban Artwork.
This project was very much a collaborative effort between all parties – owner/client, installer and Artcoustic distributor. The Artcoustic Loudspeakers are ideal and this project proved that the client can get high quality audio in a commercial environment that also looks great and adds to the interior design. The speakers are more than just a functional product, they create a unique ambience, have an individual design and also blend into the bar’s surroundings There really is no competition. Scott is ecstatic with the end result and feels Moda es and Artcoustic have surpassed his expectations.
