A Neo Home and Artcoustic Home Cinema and Entertainment System – Timeless Beauty, Seamless Integration
Improvements in technology have made home theatre a realistic option for many people. Even better, the choice in systems allows homeowners to select features to suit their lifestyle needs. Now that technology has progressed to the extent that we can re-create the cinema experience in the comfort of our own homes, finding a point of difference is becoming all-consuming.
The client of this home cinema system featured here were looking for that extra-special element to include in their home cinema. The client wanted spectacular picture, sound and wanted to feel like he just walked into a luxurious but comfortable hotel lounge. The result was a masterpiece of form and function. From its sleek and elegant interior to its cutting-edge media rack, this home cinema/entertainment room is the centrepiece of a luxury home located in an Oxfordshire village.
The developer of the property selected Neo Home to design and install a high-end home cinema/entertainment room for this new home. Neo Home, experts in designing and installing state of the art high quality integrated systems, worked with the client to provide their dream solution. Neo Home would provide the client with a multi-purpose entertainment haven where the family could listen to music, the children could play high definition video games and all could enjoy high-end home cinema.
The client’s children were between the ages of 5 and 16 years of age. The clients wanted a space specific for the older children to use their musical instruments as well as enjoy the cinema. The original brief included a two room basement with a smaller cinema. However, Neo convinced the client the best solution would be a one room space, thus increasing the flexibility of the room.
Neo Home selected Artcoustic speakers to provide dynamic sound with aesthetic appeal for the centralized user friendly surround sound home cinema and entertainment system. It was also important to ensure the room and the system combined would make a statement in its own right and that function and appearance went hand in hand when it came to creating a modern, simple and cosy atmosphere. Three identical DF75-55 X2 loudspeakers across the front of the wall ensure seamless integration. The speakers, all at exactly the same height with the same distance between them offered the best performance as well as the best aesthetic design. Artcoustic DF75-55 X2 loudspeakers also provide the side sound with Artcoustic Diablo Target loudspeakers providing the rear sound. Donvig Ljungberg eclectic screens were selected for the speakers to complement the walls. Bass duties are taken care of by the Artcoustic DFS100-75 subwoofer driven from an Artcoustic PA-1800 amplifier.
Neo Home selected a110” Screen Research slot mechanism screen. This motorised screen is mounted into the ceiling in front of the three elegantly mounted Artcoustic DF75-55 X2 loudspeakers. When movies are viewed, a Runco RS900 projector is switched on and when the screen drops down the client and his family receive a true experience of integrated sound and image. The cinema delivers a movie experience worthy of a Hollywood movie studio. When not in use, the screen sits discreetly in the ceiling allowing for a technology free room and the client, his family and friends can enjoy listening to their favorite tunes.
The system is integrated with the main Crestron system that controls the rest of the home. If the client and his family wish to continue watching a film in another room this is possible as the HMDI signals are distributed in “full HD” throughout the home via a matrix switcher.
The client is ecstatic with the system and the home now has a room the whole family can enjoy. The children particularly enjoy playing their x-box games. The cinema system is a delight to use with superb sound and picture quality to boot. Most importantly, the room is aesthetically pleasing, elegant yet comfortable where the whole family can relax.

The new flagship Spitfire 4-2-1 speaker system is available now from Artcoustic Loudspeakers. Featuring a high performance horn loaded tweeter together with 6 x 10” bass units, this model is capable of stunning performance, easily exceeding reference pressure levels with a maximum output of 122dB. Each loudspeaker is tri-amped with the PA1800 power amp to deliver 1800W per speaker.
