Congratulations to Iain and the team at iCubed for this month’s amazing Dolby Atmos 9.4.6 installation!

After creating the client's dream cinema room in his previous property, the team was invited back to design and build a new cinema for the new family home, that exceeded that of the one before.

Apart from the “no holds barred” audio and visual performance, the lighting played perhaps the biggest impact and first impression of the room.

The new Spitfire A12s were chosen due to their dynamic range and controlled dispersion. Dolby's requirements of 105db output from the screen speakers is easily achieved with the Spitfire A12, with a maximum SPL of 129dB, delivering 105db at up to 9m. The controlled 27-degree vertical dispersion ensures consistent performance in every seat, whilst reducing room interaction. A sensitivity of 103dB means all this is possible with very little power from the amplifiers.
