Born out of passion for high-performance sound and beautiful design, Artcoustic was designed for like-minded music and movie lovers who seek to experience sound just as the artist or director intended. 

Breaking the mould of the traditional loudspeaker, our unique modular system allows us to scale sound by tiny increments, meaning  we can guarantee impeccable sound in homes, cinemas and contract spaces of any size.

“Our aim has always been to create a high-quality, honest and true sound whilst still achieving the aesthetic look of our products.” – Kim Donvig, Founder

Founded in 1998 by two enterprising Danes, Artcoustic champions individuality. Our award-winning speakers, which are meticulously crafted by hand, are fully customisable to suit your taste and space. 

Based on the founding idea of “why can’t high-end loudspeakers look as good as they sound?”, the pair set about creating a loudspeaker with the perfect balance of Pro Audio performance and refined Scandinavian design.

Focusing solely on the beautiful aesthetics of the product, the audio world rejected the idea that Artcoustic could produce high performance sound too. To prove their quality, the couple emphasised selling their product to the home cinema market – a place where sound performance can't be disputed.

Today, Artcoustic delivers the finest sound systems for homes, cinemas and commercial spaces in more than 35 countries. Delivering studio quality sound, Patricia and Kim’s creation has connected 1000s of customers with their favourite artists, musicians and film directors.

Our Product Timeline…

  • 1998

    The launch of the Artcoustic DF series on-wall and floor standing loudspeakers, including iconic products, such as the DF75-55, DFF120-43, all based on Artcoustic in-house designed Pressure Control Bass System and the typical flat form factor, matching the flat plasma screen technology.

  • 2000

    Artcoustic launch the world's first ever left, right, and centre SoundBar, the iconic Artcoustic DF-Multi.

  • 2006

    The arrival of the X2 Series. This series was based on a similar Pressure Control Bass System, as the previous series. The X2 series had a much improved mid and high frequency sensitivity, catering for the constantly more demanding home cinema market.

  • 2012

    As the plasma TV technology is slowly being replaced by the much slimmer LED technology, Artcoustic decided to revamp the entire range and the outcome of this, is the launch of the SL series. The SL series is the result of over 12 years research and development and utilises the very latest drive unit and crossover technology.

  • 2013

    The year of the Spitfire. The Spitfire series was designed for the finest dedicated home cinemas, with different configurations to suit almost any room size. Performance was crucially the same as the Artcoustic SL series, but more cost effective due to more industrial aesthetics and more robust finish.

  • 2014

    Artcoustic goes in-wall and in-ceiling. The Architect series has been designed and engineered with the same high specifications as all the other Artcoustic models, leaving no space for compromise on sound quality and build, but allowing the flexibility to install in ceilings or walls.

  • 2015

    Artcoustic launches its first stackable, array PA speaker system. The Performance series is a unique cocktail, combining the award winning Artcoustic array technology, multi coupled sub units and high sound pressure levels, all carefully aligned within well-ordered Danish design principles.

  • 2022

    Artcoustic streamlines the entire range with the introduction of the SL Evolve products, the Spitfire Arrays, and the Band Pass Subwoofers to contain unique models, to be even smaller in size with improved quality, and to be even more modular. Artcoustic is included in Dolby's own design program, the Dolby DARDT, being suitable for both small, medium, and large 100+ seats cinemas.

  • 2023

    Artcoustic continues the development of the CPH Series (Copenhagen Series), designed to ensure the utmost functionality for ease of installation & connectivity. The CPH products are primarily full-range active products with Bluetooth and option for WiFi connection. The CPH series offers the same customisable colour and screen options, as the SL Series.

  • 2023

    Artcoustic starts offering a professional audio analysis service for each project containing Artcoustic loudspeakers to ensure predictable, consistent results on every single project. With our in-house-tailored acoustic analysis software we help our partners create trust and credibility and win more jobs through a predictive analytic method, ensuring every Artcoustic job lives up to the strict industry standards – a painstaking important process to avoid components failure and customer dissatisfaction.

    We offer comprehensive support in areas such as pre-quotation of acoustic room analysis, including DIN standard SPL noise mapping; subwoofer placement and phase alignment analysis; product suggestions and configuration; and room acoustic treatment.
