Los Angeles, California based John Luker works as a Director of Photography in Hollywood. His portfolio shows off his love of jazz. “Photography was always an avocation until I was shooting a documentary on the life of Lionel Hampton, the late, great, big band leader. At that point cinematography and still photography intersected. I realised that what I try to transmit as a motion picture, can be expressed just as succinctly in one frame. Ever since, the camera doesn't leave me”.
