INSTALLATION OF THE MONTH | JUly 2023

Congratulations to the team at cyberhomes for this month's installation.

This incredible 9.4.4 Dolby Atmos home cinema started out as an open plan basement that needed a purpose and a little TLC. The Client’s brief was to create a cosy space, with great sound and video, and wow factor results, all whilst following a specific customised look.

The team at Cyberhomes set to work, taking an empty, bland basement and turning it into a technically designed and personalised movie room, reflecting the client's personality and lifestyle.

The Client was keen to include vertical panels with LED lighting, along with a fibre-optic starscape ceiling. Using this as a starting point, the rest of the design process flowed very easily, with stunning results.

One of the main highlights of the project was the entrance way staircase, created to entice guests down to the main room, all whilst blending the experience with carefully designed lighting and plush fabric.

The masking screen allows for an incredible 2.40:1 presentation as well as 16:9 material presented perfectly.

The design of the seating, pendant lights and neon sign were sketched by the team at Interior Design Studio, Alexander James Interiors, whilst the team at Indigo were asked to create a design for the acoustic treatment to blend in with these feature pieces. The fabric panels were placed in a configuration to complement all of those elements coming together.

“We chose Artcoustic for the project because they go above and beyond what other manufacturers offer. Their unique design service helped us to visualise the room, and provided calculated performance details to accurately predict how the room would sound. Artcoustic also assisted with the audio calibration process to make sure the performance objectives were met. We’re always happy to work with them.”

ARTCOUSTIC'S AUDIO ANALYSIS SERVICE

Artcoustic's Audio Analysis Service is requested on many projects, helping to predict output, consistency between seating locations, bass response in room (and solutions for problematic room modes) and more. This ensures that what we promise at the sales stage is delivered upon hand over. With SPL of 105db required from the speakers, we can see we have enough headroom (7db at least - Dolby and CEDIA ask for 6db headroom for calibration) to EQ the curve perfectly. Bass exceeds the 115db (Dolby and CEDIA's requirement for +10db above the centre channel) requirements here too, giving us, Cyberhomes and crucially, the client - the confidence to know that their exciting cinema room is properly designed from the very start.
