Gerwyn Price, one of the world’s leading darts players, contacted Cre8tive Rooms in February 2023 for help designing his new basement games room.
The space was huge and the brief was to encompass a cinema, bar, darts practice area and snooker/pool table. Room layouts were produced for the space along with 3D renders. The client was blown away with the design, and after sharing it on social media the “man cave”, as it is now famously known, was born and ready for construction.

The room needed to be multifunctional, and has a lot of light coming in from bifold doors which span the entire northern elevation of the room. This posed a challenge for designing the room as a cinema space exclusively due to the light washing away the image in the open plan cinema. The space was therefore designed as a multi purpose media space instead.
A Sony 4K 100′ TV with cinema grade Artcoustic speakers is used when the lights are on and the blinds are open. To turn the room into a cinema, a button is pressed and a projector screen drops in front of the TV, the starlight ceiling turns on, the lights which are controlled by Rako all turn down to a lower level, and a projector that’s hidden in the ceiling coffer comes to life.
The whole system is controlled by Savant Automation utilising both the free smartphone app and the Pro Remote X2. A touch of one button controls the entire sequence of switching between cinema and TV mode as well as providing easy control of Sky/Apple TV and volume, all from one place.
