EVOLVE AUDIO VISUAL DELIVER REFINED DESIGN WITH MEASURED PERFORMANCE

Some rooms are designed around equipment. This one was designed around a feeling.

From the outset, the client had a very clear visual vision. The brief was not "big cinema" in the obvious sense. It was refined, calm, architectural. A room that would feel as comfortable hosting friends for sport as it would screening a late-night film. Performance mattered — but it had to disappear into the fabric of the home.

Working as part of a wider whole-home build, Luke, Mark and the team at Evolve Audio Visual shaped a space where aesthetics and acoustics were considered together from day one. This project was primarily client-led in terms of look and layout. The challenge was integration without compromise.

The specification reflects that balance:

3 × Evolve 3-1 for LCR

4 × Evolve 2-1 (painted in Zoffany Half Paris Grey) for surround duties

4 × Architect 2-1 for discreet height integration

2 × SUB3-12 delivering controlled, even bass

2 × CPH-1000D sub amps

Denon AVC-X4800H (plus additional power amplification)

Sony VPL-XW5100 projector

Grandview acoustically transparent screen

Control4 automation

A fully integrated Starscape fibre optic ceiling, woven directly into specialist-finished plasterboard

The selection was driven by performance consistency and design flexibility. The Artcoustic Evolve range provided scalable output and tonal cohesion across the entire room, while the Architect series ensured height channels remained visually discreet without sacrificing clarity.

Support from Artcoustic played a significant role — from early room analysis and 3D visualisation through to final calibration and technical advice. Having approved layouts and RP22 check guidance ensured the channel count, coverage and bass strategy were correct before installation began.

Two SUB-3 subwoofers were positioned for balanced low-frequency distribution, avoiding hotspots while maintaining authority. Channel count and Atmos layout were carefully calculated to match the seating geometry rather than simply filling a checklist.

Calibration was the final layer — refining timing, level and tonal balance so that the room felt cohesive. The client's reaction was immediate. During the first demonstration, they relaxed into the sofa and began talking about how often they would use the room — films, family time, sports with friends. It wasn't a "wow" moment built on volume and SPL. It was the sense that the room simply felt correct.

Since completion, it has become one of the most used spaces in the home. That, perhaps, is the most telling measure of success.
