ONE PLATFORM. TWO APPLICATIONS

Introducing Spitfire Cloud and SL Architect 4-2 MKII

Artcoustic is expanding its architectural loudspeaker portfolio with the introduction of a completely new high-performance in-ceiling loudspeaker, engineered to deliver exceptional sound quality, controlled directivity and effortless installation across both immersive cinema and architectural audio applications.

Launching under two dedicated product families, the new speaker has been optimised for two very different installation environments while sharing the same acoustic DNA.

For dedicated immersive cinemas, it arrives as the Spitfire Cloud — a purpose-built overhead loudspeaker designed specifically for Dolby Atmos®, DTS® and Auro-3D® systems.

For residential living spaces and commercial projects, it becomes the SL Architect 4-2 MKII — a versatile architectural loudspeaker offering exceptional performance for distributed audio, television systems and premium contract installations.

Although aimed at different applications, both models share the same engineering philosophy: delivering far greater performance, coverage control and installation flexibility than conventional architectural ceiling loudspeakers.

SPITFIRE CLOUD

Purpose-Built for Immersive Cinema

Modern immersive soundtracks rely on precise overhead localisation. Yet many traditional ceiling loudspeakers disperse sound broadly throughout the room, reducing object definition and spatial accuracy.

The Spitfire Cloud has been developed specifically to solve this challenge.

Rather than employing a conventional coaxial design, the loudspeaker uses four high-performance 3-inch long-throw drivers alongside dual Artcoustic ring-radiator high-frequency units mounted on an angled acoustic baffle.

The result is a carefully controlled coverage pattern of approximately 90° horizontally by 45° vertically, directing acoustic energy towards the listening area instead of the surrounding ceiling.

This controlled directivity delivers significantly improved Atmos object localisation, greater spatial precision, enhanced dialogue intelligibility and a remarkably consistent listening experience across multiple seating positions.

Designed to integrate seamlessly with the wider Spitfire ecosystem, the Cloud maintains tonal consistency with Artcoustic screen and surround loudspeakers, creating a highly coherent immersive sound field capable of reference-level performance.

One of the defining features of the Spitfire Cloud is its exceptionally shallow installation depth of approximately 83 mm.

This allows installation in ceiling spaces where traditional Atmos loudspeakers are often unsuitable, including concrete constructions, low-void ceilings and retrofit projects.

Combined with its fixed acoustic angle, compact construction and straightforward mounting system, installation becomes faster, more predictable and highly repeatable without the need for adjustable aiming mechanisms.

Whether specified for luxury private cinemas, media rooms or commercial immersive environments, the Spitfire Cloud delivers precision overhead performance with minimal installation complexity.

Architect 4-2 MKII

Architectural Performance Beyond the Cinema

Sharing the same acoustic platform as the Spitfire Cloud, the new Architect 4-2 MKII brings identical engineering principles to a broader range of architectural audio applications.

Developed for premium residential and commercial environments, the Architect 4-2 MKII combines high sensitivity, controlled dispersion and exceptional clarity within an elegant, low-profile in-ceiling design.

Its controlled coverage ensures even sound distribution while reducing unwanted room interaction, resulting in excellent speech intelligibility and remarkably consistent tonal balance throughout the listening area.

The Architect 4-2 MKII is ideally suited for:

• Living spaces
• Television and media rooms
• Multi-room audio
• Restaurants and hospitality
• Retail environments
• Boardrooms
• Wellness spaces
• Galleries and museums

Its shallow installation depth also makes it particularly valuable for renovation projects and buildings where ceiling void space is limited.
